Banana Bread Recipe
Do you have over ripe bananas in your kitchen that no one will touch because they’re “too brown” to eat? Well, we have a solution for you. Let’s make banana bread! Banana bread is one of those delicious goodies that gives your house a beautiful aroma and is a hit with everyone. This recipe is super simple to make, can be done directly in a bowl and can be modified to add some extra goodness!
3 very ripe bananas, peeled
1/3 cup melted butter
1 teaspoon baking soda
Pinch of salt
1 cup sugar (1/2 cup or ¾ cup if you would like it less sweet)
1 large egg, beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C), and butter a 4x8-inch loaf pan.
In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until completely smooth. Once smooth, add the melted butter and mix together well.
Add the baking soda, salt, sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract. Mix together really well.
Stir in the flour, a little bit at a time and mix well, making sure there are no flour clumps.
Pour the batter into your prepared loaf pan. Bake for 50 minutes to 1 hour at 350°F (175°C), or until a tester, inserted into the center, comes out clean.
Remove from the oven and allow it to cool in the pan for a few minutes. Once you are able to hand the pan, remove the bread and allow it to cool completely before serving.
Once completely cooled, slice and serve. (A bread knife may help to make slices that aren't crumbly.)
This recipe is excellent the way it is but you can also add chocolate chips, any type of nuts that you like or raisins. You can also drizzle some condensed milk on top to give it more of a dessert taste.
